Upper Lake, CA (USA) -- ElectroniCast Consultants, a leading market research consultancy, today announced the release of a new 10-year market forecast of the global use of light emitting diode (LED) linear tube lamps, which are used in new construction as a replacement for fluorescent linear lamps (tubes).

Diameter classification, Length and Technology The ElectroniCast report provides an independent examination and analysis of the changing market dynamics for two major types of LED-based linear tube lamps, segmented by length (less than 4 feet and 4 feet or longer), each of diameter classification (“T” standard) and by technology:

• DIP LED-based linear tube lamps

According to a just-released market study by ElectroniCast Consultants, T8 LED Tubes was the market leader in worldwide LED State-State Lighting (SSL) Tube lamp consumption value in 2010, as shown in Figure 1.

Note: The letter T is used in front of the number to show the LED Lamp is a Tube type. Following the letter is a number representing the diameter of the bulb measured in fractions of an inch. LED linear lamps (tube) widths are measured in eighths of an inch. For example:

• T5 bulb is five-eighths of an inch wide
• T8 bulb is 1 inch wide (eight-eighths)
• T10 bulb is ten-eights of an inch wide
• T12 is 1-1/2 inches (12/8ths) in diameter
